JOB SUMMARY

The Travel Insurance Business Development Assistant serves business relationships with brokers, agents, and direct clients. This role involves quoting for individual and corporate clients, providing excellent customer service, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring effective training and support for travel agents, intermediaries and direct clients. The role will also assist in credit control, maintain premium utilization records, manage documentation, issue policies, support the claims department and coordinate with the IT department on portal functionality.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Service

  • Provide quotes for individual and corporate businesses from different sources of business.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to walk-in direct clients, intermediaries and agents.
  • Issue policies and letters to the Embassy.
  • Coordinate with the IT department on the travel portal to ensure our clients receive support and efficient service while providing feedback to the IT department on changes required from end users.

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve growth targets.
  • Monthly reporting of travel agents’ sales targets.
  • Drive and deliver efficient renewal follow-up to achieve set targets.

Training

  • Conduct training sessions for intermediaries on the online portal and travel insurance products.
  • Train internal support departments on the travel insurance product.

Credit Control and Record Keeping

  • Assist in maintaining credit control in accordance with the company’s policy.
  • Keep accurate records and maintain statements of premium utilization for corporate clients.

Underwriting, Filing, Documentation and Claims support

  • Debit new, renewal and issue policy endorsements.
  • Manage proper filing of documents and ensure all documents, including KYC documents, are uploaded in the EDMS system when debiting policies.
  • Support the claims department by reviewing and analysing travel insurance claims.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a customer service or business development role within the insurance industry.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in using underwriting systems and online portals.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities.
  • Ability to analyse and review travel insurance claims.
  • Experience training and supporting agents and brokers, especially on travel insurance products.
